Philippe Senderos (born February 14, 1985 in Geneva, Switzerland) is a Swiss football player currently playing for Arsenal F.C. as a defender.

Born to a Spanish father and a Serbia and Montenegrin mother, his international options were expansive. However, he captained Switzerland to a European U-17 Championship in 2002, sparking interest from such clubs as Manchester United, Liverpool, Juventus, and both Inter and A.C. Milan.

After an unsuccessful first season plagued by injury, Senderos made his debut in an Arsenal shirt during the 2-1 away victory against Manchester City F.C. in the League Cup. He has made 13 league appearances and in particular made an impressive UEFA Champions League debut against Bayern Munich. Since then, his form has been superb, and even after Sol Campbell fully recovered from his injury, Senderos kept the star English defender on the bench.

Senderos kept Sol Campbell out of the F.A. Cup final team and was pivotal in Arsenal's great defensive performance which enabled them to win the cup on penalties, after a 0-0 draw.

In a interview with The Guardian, he said, amongst other things, that he speaks 5 languages.
